About the Committee

The Silverthorne Parks, Open Space, Recreation and Trails (SPORT) committee was founded in 1997. In November 1998, the residents of Silverthorne passed an election question supporting a 2% Lodging Tax, of which 85% would go towards capital projects relating to Parks, Open Space, Recreation, and Trails and 15% to market the Town of Silverthorne’s amenities. The first SPORT board members were appointed in January of 1999.

Meetings

The SPORT committee make recommendations on the best use of the Lodging Tax monies to the Town Council, using the Silverthorne Parks, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan as their guide.

The Committee meets every third Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the Silverthorne Town Hall, 601 Center Circle. SPORT meetings are open to the public.
