The Trent Park expansion project will provide additional neighborhood amenities to the existing Trent Park on the north side of Willowbrook Road. The expanded park area will be located on the south side of Willowbrook Road on the Trent Park overflow lot. The expanded park will feature: 

• A manufactured bouldering area 
• Basketball court 
• Bicycle pump track
• Court games 
• Warming hut and bathrooms 
• Picnic areas with grills 
• Perimeter trail
• Parking lot 

Trent Park Funding

The Trent Park expansion project has received two grants to assist with funding: 

• $600,000 from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) for Community Impact 
• $1,250,000 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF)

Part of the Trent Park Expansion project will include two world-class pump tracks. Check out the renderings below: 

Adams Avenue Extension is a new roadway project that runs north-south to connect Smith Ranch Road to Willowbrook Road, over Willow Creek. The road connection on the south will align with Adams Avenue, cross Willow Creek, and meander to connect east of the houses on Badger Lane.  Construction includes roadway and sidewalk, a 50-foot span bridge, parking on the north side, and a bus stop and mailbox shelter reconstruction.

Adams Avenue Extension will connect the Willowbrook and Smith Ranch subdivisions to shared amenities such as Trent Park and trail access. This project is funded solely by the Town of Silverthorne.

During construction, parking will be extremely limited for Trent Park and Willowbrook Trailhead as the current overflow lot is the location for the new park expansion. After construction, new parking spaces will be located along the extended Adams Avenue roadway and at the expanded park site. 

For additional parking spaces, community members may park at North Pond Park or Silverthorne Elementary School, cross Hwy 9 at the pedestrian crossing and light, and then follow the sidewalk south to Trent Park. 

The Summit Stage bus stop at the entrance of the Willowbrook neighborhood will be permanently relocated across the street, to the north side of Willowbrook road. 

A new pull-off will be constructed to access the Willowbrook neighborhood mailboxes. During construction, residents will need to park at Trent Park and walk over to the mailboxes to access them. 

Many hikers use the Trent Park overflow lot to access Willowbrook Falls. The Trent Park overflow lot will be closed to expand the park,  and hikers are reminded that Silverthorne trailheads can be very busy during the summer months, especially during peak times including weekends and holidays. Try arriving at trailheads early in the morning or later in the day; or take the free Summit Stage to the trailhead if possible. If the trailhead parking lot is full, do not park on town streets. Parking on town streets is prohibited.  Vehicles will be ticketed and towed.

Hikers can also access Willowbrook Falls from other nearby trailheads such as Mesa Cortina or Buffalo Cabin, or can plan to explore other trails during Summer 2024. For a complete list of hiking trails in the nearby area, click here. 

Protecting wetlands and Willow Creek is of upmost importance to the Town of Silverthorne as Trent Park is expanded and Adams Avenue is extended. Minimizing disturbance to the creek and wetlands has been incorporated in all aspects of road and park design.
